Offroad trip in San Miguel With Terradentro Jeeps
If you’re lucky enough to be staying in San Miguel de Allende, you’re already in for a treat. The city’s historic architecture and friendly locals are enough to keep you occupied for weeks, but that doesn’t mean you should stop there! In addition to the traditional touristy activities like visiting the Santuario de Atotonilco and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, there are many opportunities to do something different and exciting.
Terradentro offers two routes: the easy one («el fácil») is 60 kilometers long and takes about two hours; the more challenging route («el difícil») is 150 kilometers long and takes about three hours.

One such opportunity is a jeep tour with Terradentro. This company will pick you up at your hotel and drive you about an hour south of San Miguel to their basecamp. There, you’ll be given a modified 4×4 jeep with a roll cage and helmet, which is just what you need for this wild adventure! You’ll be driven out into the countryside where no normal car would dare go, because of the terrain’s rough and bumpy nature. Then, once everyone has gotten used to driving on dirt roads (and maybe a couple of small ditches), it’s time for some fun!
